Given a luxurious amount of square footage, there is so much you can do with the front entryway of a home. It needs its own comfy chair, storage, art and, obviously, welcoming atmosphere. I’ve been sharing the below collages / mood boards with my client recently. (Hi dad!)
I’m discovering neat European furniture makers, local Los Angeles artists and fabric collectors along the way. The sideboard would steal the show in this space. As well as eye-catching bronze statue, in this example a horse, to place on top. The ceilings are high enough for a full length mirror and square footage large enough for a baby grand. Finally, I’m on the lookout for an English countryside-scene tapestry to hang on empty walls. Rugs and tapestries will definitely cozy up the space and help with the existing echo*. Easy fixes.
*cue imagery of a fortress, but alas, it’s just a zero furniture and rugs problem for said client in said space.
Happy sourcing xx
well would you look at that—I too am craving a tapestry!! Love these!!!
